Shauli Einav - soprano saxophone
Christophe Girard - accordion
Medura (Hebrew for bonfire) is the place where music brings people together, friendships tightened, fears arise, intimacies are born, and stories are treasured. Shauli Einav and Christophe Girard met in Paris and discovered their mutual childhood story of growing up in the countryside, in nature. The first in Kfar-Uriyya, Judean Hills and the later in St Legere, Burgundy. This similarity immediately stroke into a strong musical connection which is influenced by the Israeli and French folk music, complemented by their vast experience and love of jazz and classical music.
Christophe Girard (accordion) is one of the most original accordionists in the French jazz scene. He's a winner of the La Defense Jazz Festival competition, Jazz a Lagny and St Germain de Pres Jazz festival's competition. Girard has been touring with renown artists such as Les Yeux Noirs, l'Arcal, l'Orchestre de Bretagne, l'Ensemble Justiniana, 2E2M, Denis Charolles, among many others.
